Sixth Form Award
Sixth Form Award
The Croxley Danes Sixth Form Award is designed to inspire you to build up a record of achievement that is highly sought by today’s universities and employers in addition to academic attainment. You will be able to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with students from any background as you move onto your next steps in two years’ time. The award has five strands:
● A high-quality university or career application – building on participation in an extensive university and career preparation programme utilising market-leading Unifrog software*
● Supporting school life – developing skills as a subject ambassador, mentor, sports coach or other service within our school community*
● Work experience – completing at least 2 days of meaningful experience in the workplace related to your future career aspiration*
● Additional qualifications – a fourth A level or an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) or graded exams in music/drama
● Driving change – leading the development of our new Sixth Form, senior student leadership or youth social action in the community All students will participate in the first three strands (*) and be supported to take up the challenge of the final two strands. Completion of the award takes place by the end of the spring term of Year 13. This will enable you to reflect on how you, individually, have learnt to stand out from the crowd. We will award achievement in four levels of certification at Pass, Merit, Distinction and Extraordinary Achievement.
